SMV and GAROU go double platinum again!

Only a year after releasing their double platinum album “Rhythm And Blues” , SMV and Garou have recorded and released the follow up album “Au Milieu De Ma Vie” (recorded and mixed at the Sanctuary Studio), which promptly received another double platinum accolade in France.

The latest single “Du Vent Des Mots” (a duet with upcoming Canadien vocalist Charlotte Cardin) was just released in Mainland Europe.

GAROU – Au Millieu De Ma Vie OUT 18TH NOVEMBER

After the double platinum success of Garou’s previous album “Rhythm and blues” ( which was also recorded and produced at the Sanctuary by SMV), the team have just finished working on a whole new collection of tracks for his 8th Studio album. Released on November the 18th, The album will feature all original material.

The first single video “Avancer” is avaliable to stream here.

MAX STONE

​Singer-songwriter Max is one of those artists whose soulful vocals sound incredible with acoustic guitars alone. Having performed around London, Max was invited to appear at MusicWeek’s “Breakout” show. His reputation preceded him and has recently been working in the studio putting his final touches on a new sound he is developing in conjunction with SMV.

NATASHA BEDINGFIELD

The Smv team have been busy in the studio recently writing and producing new material for Natasha Bedingfield’s new album.

The trio ( Eric appapoulay, David McEwan & Cassell The Beatmaker) went to Edinburgh with Natasha to the TED conference on June the 11th and formed a one off show lineup, performing her hits and a brand new track the group have written ( named “I Like You” ).

Garou 2013 Album

After the double platinum success of Garou’s previous album “Rhythm and blues” ( which was also recorded and produced at the Sanctuary by SMV), the team are back together working on a whole new collection of tracks for his 8th Studio album.

GAROU 2012

French-Canadian singer Garou is currently in the studio recording his 7th Studio album with the SMV team.

The rhythm & blues album features covers and reinterpretations from both English and French speaking artists from the past and is coming on to be an exciting album with a very big sound.

Garou has just finished his role in May as one of the 4 judges on “The Voice” in France and premiered one track from the album, live on the final show.

Alfred Hitchcock – The Lodger

Alfred Hitchcock’s 1927 silent masterpiece has had a full restoration by the BFI and a fresh new score composed by Nitin Sawhney. The soundtrack was performed by the london Symphony orchestra and members of Nitin’s band.

The Sanctuary’s David McEwan mixed the new orchestral release over at Nitin Sawhney’s studio at “The Dairy” Brixton.

It is now avaliable on 2CD, DVD and Bluray.

ELLIS HALL

The SMV team have been working with the great ELLIS HALL in The Sanctuary  on material for a new album.

He is considered by many to be the protégé of Ray Charles.

As well as being one of the best singers in the business , he is also a complete multi-instrumentalist capable of blowing anyone away, on or off stage.

TRICK THE FOX

The SMV writing/production team have been working in the Sanctuary studio with TRICK THE FOX.

The new two piece are Ren Gill & Charlie Fowler, Bath buskers with an amazing sound.

They have been recording the debut album whilst writing tracks and have started touring since April to grab attention to there very unique and exciting sound.

And they have been busy making lots of live videos on the youtube account as well.

Plan B wins 3 Ivors

Another 3 gongs to the collection for Ben Drew (Plan B) and also this time one for our very own Eric Appapoulay.
Plan B performed a Hat trick and took home 3 Ivors for…

Plan B – “The Defamation of Strickland Banks” goes into album charts at Number 1

The obscenely talented  geeza Ben Drew (Plan B) started work on “The Defamation of Strickland Banks” here at The Sanctuary Recording Studio back in 2008. Then in April 2010 the Album was released and it went into the Album Charts at No 1.  We (Eric Appapoulay and David McEwan) are extremely proud to have been involved with such a project and would like to congratulate Ben on the success of “The Defamation of Strickland Banks”.
