The Smv team have been busy in the studio recently writing and producing new material for Natasha Bedingfield’s new album.
The trio ( Eric appapoulay, David McEwan & Cassell The Beatmaker) went to Edinburgh with Natasha to the TED conference on June the 11th and formed a one off show lineup, performing her hits and a brand new track the group have written ( named “I Like You” ).

Whilst recording a track for their new album, Circle of Sound (Soumik Datta and Bernhard Schimpelsberger) brought in very special guest, Anoushka Shankar to feature on the recording.
As one of the worlds most accomplished and well known Sitar players, her playing with Circle of Sound sounded quite something. Another very enjoyable session at the Sanctuary.
After the double platinum success of Garou’s previous album “Rhythm and blues” ( which was also recorded and produced at the Sanctuary by SMV), the team are back together working on a whole new collection of tracks for his 8th Studio album.
Today huge new talent John Newman came into the sanctuary to write with SMV on some fresh material. Newly signed to Island records, John is a Yorkshire lad with a big soul voice.
He is currently best known as being a featured artist for Rudimental’s number one single “Feel the Love” and top 20 single “Not Giving In”.
Alfred Hitchcock’s 1927 silent masterpiece has had a full restoration by the BFI and a fresh new score composed by Nitin Sawhney. The soundtrack was performed by the london Symphony orchestra and members of Nitin’s band.
The Sanctuary’s David McEwan mixed the new orchestral release over at Nitin Sawhney’s studio at “The Dairy” Brixton.
It is now avaliable on 2CD, DVD and Bluray.

The young British Hip-Hop lads from Brighton popped into the studio for a few days to write with SMV for some song and production ideas.
Old Synths, classic samples, live drums , honky tonk pianos, guitars , lyrics , beats and ps3 controllers have all been flying around the room leading to some pretty exciting sounds.
Eric Appapoulay featured as guitarist at a session at the sanctuary for Incognito’s album Surreal.
Recorded late night with the bands bassist Francis Hilton, the track “the Less you know” has come out really well.

The Wonderful Jeff Beck came to the Sanctuary for a few days to Write with SMV .
Along with guest Vocalist and friend of SMV, Sophie Delilah, some great new material with an exciting modern sound have been recorded.
